UI UX Research Design Prototyping

Challenge

The University of the armed forces Munich (HSK) wanted to create a digital mental health companion for their students, to enable discret contact to mental health assistance.

Solution

Introducing Pillow. A digital health companion. The focus of Pillow is to enable discrete contact to a mental health assistace.

The UX of Pillow is designed to be a friendly and easy to use chat-UI. In Pillow the user can always switch between three different chat-modes:

  • Chatbot:
The user can ask the chatbot general questions regarding mental health and take a short test to determine his mental health status.

  • Student-Chat:
The user can chat with a student, who is trained to support the user in his mental health.

  • Professional-Chat:
The user can chat with a professional, who is trained to support the user in his mental health.

The chat is always anonymized, so the user can always be sure that his data is safe.

Only if the user wants to, he can share his data with the chat-partner, e.g. to appoint a meeting.

In case of emergency the user can press a button to call the emergency services located to the nearest help center, depending on users position.
